Ancient Queers- Queer History before 1900

Most modern, Western descriptors of queerness began in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with the sciences of psychology and sexual behavior finally being studied. But queerness has been around longer than when Hirschfeld and Kinsey put names to things. Was Elagabalus trans? What is a Boston marriage? Who worked at and frequented Molly Houses? These are just some of the topics we may touch on. Oh, and how modern media has gotten a lot of queer history wrong. I’m looking at you Braveheart.
